Our days at Goldcoast was definitely something to remember by. Even though I've been here before, I enjoyed my stay immensely. There were so many things to do with so little time. The weather was so beautiful. Mr Sunshine was shining brightly on us and kept us warm during the day that we didn't have to carry around our thick winter clothing. The weather was warm with cool breeze brushing our faces. Our nights were cooler that we spared the fan in our apartment.
The utmost priority of our visit was to let the children enjoy themselves. We kept our promise and brought them to the themed parks there. We visited Warner Brothers Movie World, Dreamworld and Sea World. We spent a whole day at each themed park and the children had the chance to ride on the rides more than once. For themed parks with no halal fast food, we packed sandwiches and fried bee hoon for our lunch and snacks. We also did some souvenirs shopping there.
Food is abundance here in Goldcoast. There are halal fast food and restaurant in Surfers Paradise. However, most of our meals were home cooked by my mother. We did our groceries at Coles, Woolworth and the Asian Supermarkets nearby. For our halal meat, we got our produce from Asims Butcher. The children had ice-creams everyday from Baskin Robbins. Too much sugar, you say. All rules were bent since it's the holiday!
Shopping was also on our list. We managed to visit Australia Fair and Pacific Fair. We shopped at Target, Myer, Kmart, Hard Rock Cafe and the list goes on. Not everything was cheaper than Singapore though. So we had to pick and choose things that were good bargains.
Goldcoast is easily accessible by bus. Since it's our second time here, we knew our way around. We travelled around with so much ease that we felt very much like home. Hhmmmm.... Home, how I wished I could call Goldcoast my home!
We had our fun. Most importantly there was quality time spent as a family. The girls enjoyed themselves and requested to come back again. A hefty sum of money spent but it was all worth it.
