It scares me how fast time passes by. An evident that justifies this is the fast growing 1st born of mine. It felt like only yesterday that I gave birth to her. Now, she's almost six years old.
Nurin A'isyah was a very easy baby to care for. No mood swings, no tantrums, no whinings. Everyone would love to help babysit her.
The only thing that wasn't growing as fast were her teeth. She had her 1st six teeth when she was about 13 months. Yes, not only one but six teeth grew at the same time. Last year, somewhere in May, her 1st tooth came out. That was too fast, I thought, considering that her teeth came very late. But hey, who could ever stop nature.
After the 1st tooth came out, no other loose tooth was detected till yesterday. She has been complaining about her teeth and gum being sore for the last month. The remedy - hot drinks. I felt helpless not able to help her ease the sore.
When she came home from school yesterday, she told me how her two front teeth were moving in and out. I was literally laughing. Then I explained to her that her teeth were loose and it's time to have it out. She didn't like the sound of it. When we arrived at my mom's place, I told my mom that A'isyah had loose teeth to be extracted. Well, being a "qualified" dentist, my mom was excited by the mere mention of loose tooth. She sweet talked the frightened granddaughter to let her check the teeth. While checking, she pulled out the tooth with her hands. EEEwhhhhh!!!!! Memories of my loose teeth came flashing in my mind.
Two more teeth are loose. More will follow suit. My dear girl is looking so cute without her teeth. They look so adorable when not able to say certain words. An adult with lost teeth? Definitely not a pretty sight!
