Last day of school 2007

Today was the last day of the school term for year 2007. How fast time flies! It felt just like yesterday when I first took these nursery children.

Well, for those who doesn't know, I am a pre-school teacher. I've been in this line for 5 years now. I used to work on part-time basis with a child care centre when I was still schooling. Then I worked in the office with one of the airline company.

When I gave birth to my 1st born, I felt that I could do more for my girl if I were to have more time. Furthermore, I had so much stress at work back then that it gave me a post natal depression. Thus I gave up my office work for a job as a homemaker. It didn't do any good that I'm not earning any money. I've lost my spending power. So I took up this job as a pre-school teacher and worked half day....

Working from 8am to 12pm has its privileges. Not only I'm earning some money, I have a lot of time with my girl. School term break is also a break for me. I've never regretted joining this line at all.

Now, I'm working full time. I've learnt so much from this line. How to handle children, their needs, their special behaviours and more.... My girls have definitely benefit from it. I'm able to use the techniques I've learnt on my girls, too.

For now, I've been assigned to teach the Nursery level. Next year will be my 3rd year handling this age group. It has its pros and cons teaching this level. The most trying period will be the first month, well let's say about 3 weeks. Most of the children will be crying for their parents and some will end up throwing out due to the long and excessive cries.... Well that's trying!!! After that, they're fine and they'll idolise you like a god...

Looking forward to next year but for now, I will definitely enjoy my holiday, bumming around, catching up on my sleep, catching up on my girls and catching up on my lesson plans!!!
