It was almost 12 midnight. Ibah, Aunt Roza and Uncle Rahim had it all planned. They wanted to surprise Abah (that's father in Malay!) on his birthday. So we gathered outside Abah's house. When the clock struck 12, Aunt Roza pressed the doorbell.
We were singing Abah the birthday song the moment he opened the door. He was surprised. He didn't expect to see Aunt Roza and family to be there, too. He thought that it would only be me and my family.
So the mini celebration continued with the cutting of cake and some picture taking. We had the birthday cake and coffee to go along with it. After about two hours, we said our goodbyes and left elated Abah to open his presents from Aunt Roza and family.
We will be having another celebration later today with the other family members. Oh how I enjoy birthday celebrations!! Happy 61st Birthday, Abah! May Allah bless you with good health, rezeki and happiness, insyaAllah, Amin.
