My 2 year old is always full of surprises. Today, this quick tempered girl amazed me with a new phrase that I've not heard from her before. She was going around saying "eeee...alamak....bodoh!" (which literally means "oh my god.... stupid!") to anyone that annoyed her, including me and her sister. This went on almost the whole day today. It was funny at first but it got on my nerves as she used it more and more.
My hubby and I refrained ourselves from using negative words at home so that the girls will not use them. I wonder where she had learnt to say that. I've corrected her a lot of times but to no avail. So, hubby and I started a new phrase "eeee.... alamak.... pandai!" (means "oh my god! you're clever!") to her and her sister whenever they annoyed us. We laughed at ourselves at first and thought that it might not work. All of a sudden, just like the wind, the bad phrase went away as quickly as it came. She stopped using the bad phrase and by night, it was history. I hope it won't come back again tomorrow.....
